Managing and Developing Teams
A work team consists of a group of individuals who cooperate and work together to achieve a given set of objectives or goals. To that end, team cohesion is critical to success, so teamwork has to be well-managed. As a manager, it is your job to ensure this.
To start off, a balanced team composition is essential; team members have to be carefully selected, taking into account the full range of knowledge and skills required. What's more, for success to happen, team members need to be committed to the task. But how do you meet this balance yet ensure continuous improvement of your team's performance?
Comprising two modules, this program is ideal for managers, supervisors and team leaders responsible for creating effective teams and wanting to achieve optimum team performance.
In this program, you will learn about:
- the stages of team development
- the characteristics of an effective team
- differing work team styles and models, including selection of optimal team size
- how culture influences work team behaviour
- strategies for improving team performance
- how words work.
