Trade Practices and Consumer Protection (Financial Services)
Essential for all individuals and organisations providing goods or services in the Financial Services Industry in Australia.
Consisting of a number of modules, this program will provide you with an understanding of the requirements for fair and ethical behaviour which are placed upon individuals and organisations providing financial services. This program addresses the requirements of the Trade Practices Act, 1974 and the ASIC Act, 2001.
The material presented in this program is provided by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
In this program, you will learn about:
- the ACCC and its guiding legislation
- restrictive trade practices and the concept of misuse of market power
- unconscionable conduct and the main restrictions under the TPA, 1974
- consumer protection and the rights of consumers under the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Regulations (ASIC).
