Visual Merchandising
Maximising profitability is important to all retailers. To do this, you need to know how to best represent the product. This course provides you with a simple step-by-step guide to understanding, planning, implementing and maintaining the Visual Merchandising standards in a retail store in order to maximise your profitability.
This course is designed to provide you with an understanding of how to use merchandising skills to be more effective merchants. To achieve this, the course will firstly identify the key issues, and then discuss merchandising principles that help to manage the key issues. These principles will then be related to relevant examples on line and in your store. A checklist will then be provided for you to consider in your store, and an online assessment to check your understanding. You will be guided with online activities and visual images to demonstrate the principles, and can print out the sections to use for future reference.
At the completion of this course, you should be able to:
- attract more customers; increase interaction and product sales by being a better merchant
- create an environment that stimulates sales by understanding the way your customers are motivated to buy
- maximise return on your display space by matching the location of your products to the needs of the customer
- create impact and store identity through effective window presentations and display areas
- reinforce the features and benefits of your products by using effective ticketing and signage techniques
- increase traffic flow and interest by coordinating effective promotional campaigns
