LNQ has an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander unit that focus on developing projects in consultation with the community and other stakeholders.

The objectives for the unit are:
- To build strong relationships with our regional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to form a platform for working together to design appropriate training and work solutions
- To engage with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community elders and leaders to ascertain needs and to involve them in advisory leadership of the LNQ strategy
- To engage with local industry to ensure that the training is fully aligned with the skills needs of the Qld economy, particularly with skills appropriate for the client group
- To ensure that training solutions lead to real work
- To engage LNQ staff in cross cultural professional development and further learning of special approaches to learning and training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- To source funding to provide solutions for communities
- To access Government funding sources such as VRG (VET Revenue General) to assist with appropriate and relevant training solutions.
LNQ have delivered accredited and non-accredited training across the state in particular regional and remote areas e.g. Burketown, Weipa, and Goondiwindi.
LNQ provides training to meet the needs of the client and cohort of students which is “off-campus” mobile classrooms. This includes a trainer kit for the teacher (data projector, laptop and printer), laptops which are connected to wireless 3G network.
